FOOTBALL HONORS
Lorenzo Selectman of William Jewell College (Mo.), Paul Carter of University of St. Francis (Ill.) and Mike Betancourth of Azusa Pacific University (Calif.) were named the NAIA Football Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, for the week ending November 13, 2005.
A senior from Kansas City, Mo., Selectman accounted for all of William Jewell's points in a 28-26 victory against Missouri Valley. The6'1", 209-lb wide receiver caught nine passes for 290 yards and four touchdowns. Jewell finished the season at 6-4.
Carter, a 6'1" defensive back, intercepted three passes in a 21-7 win against conference foe Walsh University (Ohio), returning one from the end zone with 1:58 to play for a 100-yard touchdown to seal the victory. The Indianapolis, Ind. native became only the third Cougar to intercept three passes in one game. Carter added two solo tackles as St. Francis improved to 10-0 on the regular season.
Hailing from Moreno Valley, Calif., Betancourth capped Azusa Pacific's comeback victory against Valley City State University (N.D.) with a 42-yard field goal with 3:36 remaining in the game. The senior's first field goal was a 40-yard score and he was instrumental in the field position battle, placing three punts inside the 20-yard line. Azusa Pacific improved to 6-3 overall.

VOLLEYBALL HONORS
Lauren Perrin of King College (Tenn.), Annie Jankowski of the College of St. Mary (Neb.), and Dannielle Cathcart of Urbana University (Ohio) were named the NAIA Volleyball Player, Setter, and Libero of the Week, respectively, for the week ending November 13, 2005.
Perrin, a 5'9" outside hitter from Bristol, Tenn., averaged three kills per game as King went 5-2 on the week. The sophomore averaged over five digs per game and had a total of 11 blocks and 16 aces during the week. For her efforts, she was named the conference tournament MVP. King improved to 30-11 overall.
Sophomore setter Jankowski averaged 15.33 assists per game in leading St. Mary to a 2-0 week. A native of Omaha, Neb., she also had 4.33 digs per game in the Flames' 3-0 wins against Newman University (Kan.) and Bellevue University (Neb.). St. Mary has a season record of 30-6.
Hailing from Anna, Ohio, Cathcart broke the NAIA record for digs in a season (1222) after totaling 63 digs in six games during the week. A senior libero, Cathcart also had two aces as Urbana defeated Roberts Wesleyan College (N.Y.) 3-0 and dropped a 3-0 match to Mount Vernon Nazarene University (Ohio). Urbana is now 37-9 on the year.
